Catalina Island Vacation Rentals
You might have already gone to Catalina Island before, and if you have, then you know how it’s an island which is mostly wild and untamed. It can be a land of adventure with hundreds of potential animals that you might encounter, if you’re into hiking or ocean-kayaking. Catalina Island Vacation Rentals will allow you to adventure here in style.
Some of the animals you might see include the American Kestrel, the Western Skink or the Northern Elephant seal. The Catalina Conservancy photo galleries will let you see the island in all it’s splendor.
Here, you can find out about the Catalina Island Conservancy’s Boat-in-Camp campsites. This is for those who love the wild at it’s wildest (me). It’s “Like Robinson Crusoe”. The campgrounds have no water, no sanitation facilities so you must bring your own porta-potty. If you don’t have one, the ranger has WAG bags, which are landfill approved. They have a liquid gel inside. The ranger will be checking for this, no mooring – so there’s not a place to put your boat.
I camp at Canyon Lake, East of Phoenix, which is much like this and I’ll just drag my kayak up onto a cliff and camp in a cliff cave. You have to be really careful when you camp in such ways that your kayak doesn’t drift away. You take your life into your own hands when you camp like this; but it’s the most fun you can ever have once the sun goes down and you’re with your friends. It’s the absolute in being intimate. The absolute silence that you experience will be astounding.
Catalina Island Vacation Rentals are how you get here. You must dare, in order to experience the most that life has to give. You must have direct encounters with wildlife, and harsh environments. They bring you to life. Tackling your fears is how you learn not to have fears. To live in fear, all your life, is to not live at all. Comfort is greatly overrated. If you love the show “Man vs Wild”, then you’ll love doing this.
There are no overnight powerboat rentals that can be found anywhere on Catalina Island, so you’ll have to have your own private boat from the mainland, or you’ll need to kayak from either Avalon or Two Harbors. If it were me, I would print out an enlarged version of that map. Then, I would laminate it and punch a hole that I’d then tie onto a string that would go inside one of my waterproof kayaking roll-up sacks. A coastal ranger makes daily visits to each site and he’ll collect fees for add-on campers or they will assign campers without reservations to any of the available sites.
If you’re bringing in your own boat, realize that you must moor your boat offshore, and then use a dingy to come ashore. There is no water, so bring it with you.
So, one of the things you can do if you’re going to Catalina Island and you set up your Catalina Island Vacation Rentals is camp at the primitive Boat-in Campsites on Catalina Island.
